For Athletes. For What Comes Next.

Your athlete identity is
your greatest asset.
Don't leave it behind.

Moving on from sport is one of the hardest things athletes will ever do. You don't have to figure it out alone.

Sport defines who you are.
Then one day, it ends.

For most athletes, sport isn't just something they do, it's a large part of who they are, sometimes for decades. When it's over, the question isn't just "what do I do next?" It's "who am I now?" That question deserves a real answer.

I've dedicated my life to helping athletes thrive through and because of sport.

Not just while they're competing, but long after the final game. As a former Division I lacrosse player at Notre Dame and ex-Deloitte consultant, I've lived the identity shift firsthand. Over 400+ conversations with athletes navigating life beyond competition, I've shaped a mission: help athletes use what sport gave them.

I hold a master's in Organizational Psychology and Leadership Coaching from the University of Pennsylvania, combining evidence-based frameworks with real-world experience from high-performance environments. I now serve as Executive Director of Athletes Soul and work formally with 42U, bringing both missions together under one commitment: helping athletes thrive beyond sport.

"The goal is not for athletes to leave their athlete identity behind. The goal is to help them use it."

Background

Former Division I lacrosse player (Notre Dame) · Ex-Deloitte consultant · Master's in Organizational Psychology & Leadership Coaching, University of Pennsylvania · Executive Director, Athletes Soul

Experience

400+ conversations with athletes navigating transition · Coaching clients across current athletes, retirees, and executives shaped by sport

Belief

Athletes don't need an option B. They need a bigger option A, and the discipline, resilience, and drive built through sport is the foundation for it.

Three ways I can help

Wherever you are in your athletic journey, there's a path forward.

For Current College Athletes

42U

Helping current student-athletes take ownership of their identity, build their personal brand, and develop the foundation that extends beyond their sport, before the transition happens. Working with universities across the Big Ten.

For Athletes in Transition

Athletes Soul

A nonprofit dedicated to helping athletes navigate the identity challenges of retirement and transition. Free membership, community, coaching, peer mentoring, and curriculum, because this moment deserves more than being pushed through.

For Former Athletes

Coaching & Consulting

Helping former athletes reconnect with their purpose and reapply their athletic mindset to whatever comes next. Structured 1:1 work in business, leadership, and life, grounded in real decisions, not hypotheticals.

Reconnect your strengths. Redirect your drive.

You're successful on paper. You perform. You're reliable. But your edge is underused. The strengths that made you exceptional in sport aren't fully engaged in what comes next, and that costs energy, clarity, and fulfillment.

Athletes don't need reinvention. They need translation.

The Athlete Edge Alignment System is a structured assessment that takes about 10 minutes. It looks at how you're wired to compete, where that wiring currently helps or hurts, and what environments unlock your best energy.

Start the Assessment
1

How You're Wired to Compete

Understand the patterns, instincts, and habits you built through years of athletic training and competition.

2

Where That Wiring Helps or Hurts

Identify where your athletic identity is working for you right now, and where it may be creating friction.

3

What Environments Unlock Your Best

Pinpoint the types of challenges and contexts where your edge is most fully engaged.

4

A Conversation to Go Deeper

Some find clarity from the assessment alone. Others use it to start deeper work, building a personal operating system for life after sport.

Your athletic identity is a competitive advantage

The qualities that made you great in sport don't expire when your career ends. They become the foundation for everything that comes next.

Discipline

The ability to show up and do the work, every day, regardless of how you feel

🛡

Resilience

The capacity to absorb setbacks and come back stronger than before

🧭

Leadership

The instinct to elevate others and perform under pressure when it matters most

🔥

Drive

The relentless pursuit of growth, in business, relationships, service, and life

The goal is to empower athletes to use the identity they built through sport to thrive in whatever field they choose, whether it's between the lines or not.

Real people. Real transitions.

Ed's approach was unique in a very positive way. The focus of each meeting was driven by what I wanted to discuss rather than a rigid agenda. The goals I set for myself now feel more attainable, and I have a clearer path forward because of the framework we developed together.

Brendan

Ed got to know about me first, what drove me in athletics, what I was struggling with professionally, and tailored approaches to help me figure out exactly what I wanted to do next. It made it clear I was capable of this.

Brett

Ed believed in me in ways I had forgotten to believe in myself. He is one of the best listeners I have ever met. On more than one occasion he coached me toward a choice I was blind to see. His empathy knows no bounds.

Therese

Ed brings a rare combination of calm presence and curiosity. Working with him allowed me to feel both deeply supported and constructively challenged. His ability to help me see my patterns, trust my instincts, and challenge my limits made working with him transformative.

Michelle

Our work together shifted me from chasing perfection to practicing presence and aligning my actions with a clearer sense of purpose. I now approach challenges with greater curiosity and less fear. If you want a coach who helps you grow stronger, wiser, and more present, work with Ed.

Max

Being coached by Ed was a transformative experience. From our very first session I knew this was exactly what I needed. Ed's style is creative, grounding, and reflective, he helped me step back and see my life with fresh eyes so I could move forward with intentionality.
